FMLA

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides eligible employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per calendar year with continuation of health insurance benefits. Employees are eligible for FMLA if they have worked for Dearborn Public Schools for at least 12 months, worked a minimum of 1,250 hours in the year prior to the leave, and have available FMLA leave available to use. Please note that federal law does not provide paid time off. Paid time off is covered by union collective bargaining agreements and district policy.
