Thank you for substituting for Dearborn Public Schools. The government requires Dearborn Public Schools to enroll all employees in the Michigan Public School Retirement System (MPSRS), which requires us to withhold your pension contribution and your 401K contribution that totals 10.2% of your total earnings. PESG and third-party companies are not required to deduct these contributions.

Office of Retirement Services will soon send you information that will require you to select a pension plan. Your withholding amount will then be determined by the plan you select, which may be 5% (Defined Contribution Plan) or 10.2% (Pension Plus 2).
