Save time, save money, and get a year ahead of your classmates. The Henry Ford Collegiate Academy is an exciting partnership between the Dearborn Public Schools and Henry Ford College. Students attending high school can earn both a high school diploma and an associate degree at no cost to the parents or students.
It doesn’t matter if your child attends Dearborn, Edsel Ford, or Fordson high school, the program is available at all three. Music, athletics, theater, clubs, commencement ceremonies, honors night, prom, homecoming, and all of the other activities that complete the high school experience are still a part of your child’s experience when they enroll in the Collegiate Academy.
Students enter the program at the start of their junior year based on the scores they have achieved on the PSAT test taken in the spring of their tenth grade year. During their 11th grade year students begin taking classes at both Henry Ford College (HFC) and at their home high school.
When they start their 12th grade year, most classes will be at HFCC but they can continue to participate in all the activities at their home high school, even walking in graduation ceremonies with their classmates.
Then, in their final and thirtieth year, while their classmates are just now starting college, the Collegiate Academy students will be completing their associate degree at HFC one year ahead of their peers.
This entire program, including all college classes, books, and fees comes at no cost to parents or students.
