STEM Middle School is a magnet school for students in the sixth to eighth grade. The National Blue Ribbon School provides an accelerated learning pathway for middle school students, while following the same middle school curriculum used across the district. Teachers strive to implement interdisciplinary lessons; a focus on 21st Century Thinking Skills; creative and innovative thinking; the use of technology to enhance learning; as well as innovative teaching and learning techniques that challenge the students and focus on their strengths. Current 5th grade Dearborn Public School students do not need to apply; invitations to qualifying students will be emailed to students and parents in the spring. Dearborn residents whose student currently attends a private/charter school, can find an application on the STEM blog in mid-April.
