Teacher Talk takes center stage with Year One Professional Staff

This past week, our Year One Professional Staff members attended an important professional development session on how to best communicate with their students. Ms. Margaret King-Ahmed, our district trainer in the Teacher Talk/Parent Talk series provided several tips and strategies based on the work by Chick Moorman and Nancy Weber. Participants were able to reflect on their successes and do-overs from the past school year. Much of the discussion centered around how teachers need to take care of themselves as educators, the importance of communication and the impact effective feedback can have on a student’s well-being.

Margaret shared several “Quick Teacher Talk Tips” with the group. The entire list of over 500 tips can be found at this link: https://www.chickmoorman.com/teachertalkadvantage/tips.html

For those teachers interested in attending a more in-depth session on Teacher Talk Advantage, Margaret is offering two Six-Star Saturday PD sessions coming up this Saturday, Feb 23 and March 2 from 8:00 -12:00 p.m. at ASC. Year 1, 2 and 3 teachers that attend can use these PD hours towards their required 90 hours of New Teacher PD.
