ESL Classes
Learn to speak English.
Improve your skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and basic math (numeracy).
Prepare for the U.S. Citizenship Test.
Dearborn Adult Education offers ESL classes to help adults learn to read, write, and communicate confidently in English. These classes also help students gain the skills and knowledge needed to become active and informed parents, workers, and community members.
Classes are available for beginning, intermediate, and advanced learners. All classes include instruction in:
- Listening
- Speaking
- Reading
- Writing
- Numeracy (basic math)
Please note: Class placement is based on the results of an assessment given during registration.
Eligibility
- Students must be 20 years or older as of September 1 and not currently enrolled in high school.
- Students under 20 years old may enroll only if they have a GED or high school diploma.

Class Schedules
Day Classes
- Length: 2 hours per class
- Duration: 12 weeks
- Days: Monday through Friday
- Times:
- 8:30–10:30 a.m.
- 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
- 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Evening Classes
- Length: 3 hours per class
- Duration: 15 weeks
- Days: Tuesday and Thursday
- Time: 6:00–9:00 p.m.
