Belle Isle – Nestled in the Detroit River, the island offers playgrounds, a free aquarium, nature center, beach swimming and more, not to mention the view of downtown Detroit.

Dearborn Heights Library – Books, activities and more for all ages. Check their calendar for scheduled activities.

Dearborn Parks – The City of Dearborn boasts 400 acres of public parks. Playgrounds galore! Sports fields, picnic shelters and walking paths are available. Three parks offer free splash pads during the warmer months, and others have paid swimming during the summer.

Dearborn Public Library – Pick up a book or movie, enjoy a story time, try the craft or see how the doll house is decorated this month. Check their calendar for regular events.

Environmental Interpretive Center – This gem on the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus offers nature walks, maple syrup collecting, environmental displays and popular bird feeders that can be viewed from indoors.

Nankin Mills Interpretive Center – Learn about local nature or history in this Westland location nestled along the Rouge River in the heart of the Hines Drive Park.

Huron-Clinton Metroparks – A collection of 13 metro parks offering nature hikes, swimming, a working farm, bike paths, paddle boats, playgrounds and much more to explore. There is a $10 entry fee for the parks. Annual passes also available.
