The assignment that the individual holds is no longer relevant to the use of DPPD for certificate progression or renewal including the following MDE issued certificates or licenses (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/open?id=0B7RPBj3f6kOhcHcyRW9zc0ZNQVJJM3VYMVlxYkFEX3JCVDdr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">see March 2, 2018 Memo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on DPPD): <\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Professional Education Certificate<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Occupational Education Certificate<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">School Administrator Certificate<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">School Counselor License<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">School Psychologist Certificate<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>DPPD may not be used for the renewal of Provisional certificates. <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">*** <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All Dearborn administrative staff, cabinet members, Instructional coaches, resource teachers, and other staff <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">providing DPPD eligible opportunities must:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep track of the agenda, sign in\/out sheet, and log the PD event on the school\/district calendar<\/span><\/li>\n<li>The DPPD session has a maximum contact time of eight hours. The actual meeting contact time ( time used for instruction).\u00a0 Do <strong>NOT<\/strong> count the welcome, breaks, lunch, dinner speeches, homework, preparation time, registration, or similar non-instructional activities.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Hand out the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/dearbornschools.org\/document\/d\/1vpHTj8v8j-pN-3HAecAfU6EWE7djjztm2fPRAlL86E0\/edit?usp=sharing\"><b>individual slips<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to employees who wish to use the activity for DPPD credit.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The DPPD is appropriate to the grade level(s) and endorsement area(s) for which the educator is certified see \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/dearbornschools.org\/document\/d\/1yg0QN1G-oRwSbBrp1JO-f7dEoHGFsExeBCljNG3ElMA\/edit?usp=sharing\">PD Guidelines<\/a>\u00a0<b>(Copies of Documents from # 1 must be dropped in the folder labeled <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/0B-SCg_hlwdEgdkFrTzdrYWduWVE?usp=sharing\"><b>DPPD District Records<\/b><\/a><b>.)<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The school\/district agrees to submit to all auditing and documentation requirements established by OPPS. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Districts should keep documentation to support that:<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the professional development was conducted<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the topic matches what was reported by the teacher and indicates content appropriate for renewing<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the participants attended the activity. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is recommended that teachers input DPPD hours yearly and obtain a<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/open?id=1QYWkLBMs9I-UR-25VjjpZqMw5juiSzjj\"> signed DPPD form yearly<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DISTRICT PROVIDED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (DPPD)\u00a0All Michigan educators may use DPPD (district provided professional development) toward the progression from the Michigan provisional teaching certificate to the professional education certificate.
