Consultant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Internal\/External<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wayne RESA seeks a science consultant to support local districts in developing, implementing and assessing a science curriculum based upon national standards and the Michigan Science Standards and Benchmarks and Content Explanations.\u00a0 Additionally, they will provide consultant and leadership services to Wayne County schools in science curriculum instruction, and assessment; school organizational development; school improvement and science professional development at Pre-K through secondary levels.<\/p>\n<p>Position:<br \/>\nThe successful candidate will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide consulting and coordinate activities related to science curriculum, instruction, and assessment<\/li>\n<li>Organize, plan, develop, support, and deliver professional learning activities focused on science instruction, curriculum development, and assessment<\/li>\n<li>Support educators in using data effectively to drive instructional practice and decision making<\/li>\n<li>Promote sharing of innovative and successful instructional resources and strategies<\/li>\n<li>Model the principles of continuous learning, problem solving, and collaboration<\/li>\n<li>Assist and lead Wayne County districts in planning and implementing the Math Science Center functions for science:\u00a0 leadership, curriculum support, professional development, community involvement, student services, and resource clearinghouse.<\/li>\n<li>Plan, implement, and monitor Math Science Center goals, objectives, and activities<\/li>\n<li>Serve as RESA representative to Wayne County science organizations and local school district science liaisons<\/li>\n<li>Organize, plan, and conduct science professional development sessions and training programs for local districts in a variety of locations.<\/li>\n<li>Integrate the use of technology into science instruction and programs.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in local district needs assessments, Math Science Center and Educational Services planning<\/li>\n<li>Work in collaboration with other RESA staff to ensure client needs are met in the most efficient and effective manner.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate as an active team member in RESA projects as assigned<\/li>\n<li>Attend and contribute to department and sub-department meetings and planning sessions<\/li>\n<li>Know current research and effective practices of curriculum, instruction, assessment; school development and school improvement; and professional development in the field of public education and particularly, in the area of science<\/li>\n<li>Use professional judgment and act effectively to carry out the functions of this position within the direction provided by RESA mission and goals, the Educational Services Department goals and objectives and the Math Science Center Strategic Plan.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree required with major or minor in Science<\/li>\n<li>Michigan teacher certification required<\/li>\n<li>Minimum five (5) years\u2019 experience teaching science required<\/li>\n<li>Experience as a science consultant preferred<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated skill in design and implementation of successful strategies for professional development and curriculum planning\/development in Science based upon national and state standards required<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in leadership, teaching, planning and evaluation, and curriculum development required<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated sills in consultation, training, group facilitation and process required<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to integrate emerging forms of technology into professional activities and public presentations required<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated skill in proposal development and organization and budget management preferred<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills required<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated skill working with diverse populations required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Compensation:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 Current WCSSF 11-Month Salary Schedule \u2013 Grade M ($66,607-$99,979 FY)<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Application Process and
