Vocabulary |
"H" Drive: Your home directory. This file is secure and can be accessed from any computer in the district. It is named the same as your network / email username with the $ sign attached at the end. Local Hard Drive: This is on the actual machine in your classroom. The Shared folder is the only place on this drive that you are allowed to access. Mac: Apple Macintosh computers located in the elementary schools and in the Applications lab and other places in the middle school. Network: A collection of file servers that provide security, store your files and provide access to the internet. PC: Dell computers located in the secondary classrooms and labs and administrative offices. |

Elementary Teacher - Station Computer Saving to the Local Hard Drive
If your network account has been identified by Media/Computer Services as having large amounts of data on the Home or “H” Drive, please save large files to your local hard drive in your classroom. The Shared folder is the only place on the local hard drive that you are allowed to access. Common types of large files include: iMovie, iDVD, Videos from WCRESA Streaming Video, PowePoint presentations, large image files or large collections of images.
