Dearborn Public Schools Education Foundation

Mission Statement

The mission of the foundation is to generate and distribute financial and other resources to the Dearborn Public Schools for enrichment programs and other projects aimed at enhancing the quality of education and providing students with opportunity.

Financial Support

Foundation funds are contributed by individuals and businesses committed to educational excellence.  Contributions may be designated for general support of the educational system or for specific projects at earmarked schools.  Numerous fund raisers are held throughout the year like Pizza Night, Mardi Gras and Borders Benefit Day.

Allocation of Funds

A board of Directors, composed of citizens interested in the school district, determines how Foundation funds are utilized.  The use of the funds must be consistent with the educational goals, priorities and strategies of the Dearborn Board of Education.  The Foundation encourages suggestions and recommendations from staff and community members.  So far the Foundation has raised and returned over $675,000.
