The following letter was written by Mr. Andrew Angel, a Dearborn parent. The letter first appeared in the Sunday edition of the Dearborn Press & Guide.

Dear Governor Snyder,

Thank you for taking on Michigan's structural budget problems in an open and honest way; I was and remain convinced you are committed to a better future for our great state.  As a private sector tax payer and a parent of two children enrolled in a public elementary school, I have a personal interest in making sure that our government delivers high quality services, and making sure that it uses our scarce tax dollars wisely.  As a nerd who looks at the numbers when I make important decisions, I have four reasons why I think you made a mistake when you proposed removing the special exemption that enables the Dearborn Public School District (DPSD) to receive At-Risk student funding.
