Almost 20 years ago the Dearborn Public Schools began offering senior citizens free admission to school events and other special discounts via the Golden Ager card. The district is pleased to announce a new commitment to this program with new offerings and a new name.

Joseph Guido
Joseph Guido has served on the board since 1993. His term expires on Dec. 31, 2015. He is the father of three Dearborn graduates. He is an architect and owner of the firm Guido Architects, Inc., located in Dearborn. Guido serves on the City of Dearborn Municipal Building Authority. He also serves on the Camp Dearborn Task Force.

Aimee Blackburn
Aimee Blackburn was first elected in 2000 and is serving her third term which ends on Dec 31, 2012. She lives in Dearborn and has two children, who attend(ed) Dearborn Public Schools. Blackburn is currently pursuing her MBA at Wayne State University. She earned a Bachelor’s in Business Finance from Wayne State, as well as an Associate’s in Business Administration from Henry Ford Community College. Currently, Blackburn works as a Treasury Analyst in the Financial Risk Management department for TRW Automotive in Livonia.

Roxanne McDonald
Roxanne McDonald is serving her first term on the board. Her term will expire on December 31, 2015. She graduated from Dearborn High, received two Associate degrees from Henry Ford Community College and a Bachelors in Business Administration from Lawrence Technological University, all with honors. Roxanne and her husband Chuck, have three sons. Two of their sons are currently enrolled in Dearborn Public Schools and their oldest is a disabled veteran. Roxanne has been very involved in community service throughout Dearborn including serving on several PTA/PTSA executive boards and on district committees. Hussein Berry
Hussein Berry is serving his first term on the board. His term expires on December 31, 2013. Hussein is married to Nada, who has taught in Dearborn Public Schools since 1996, where their children currently attend. Hussein has a son attending Wayne State University and his oldest son graduated from the University of Michigan. Mr. Berry is a real estate broker and also involved in many community service organization in the Dearborn area.

Pamela Adams
Pamela Adams had served on the Board since 1996. Her current board term expires on December 31, 2013. She is a lifelong Dearborn resident and a graduate of Edsel Ford High School and the mother of two Dearborn High School graduates both of whom are teachers. Adams was involved for many years with the Board of Managers for Michigan PTSA and with the Dearborn PTSA Council. She currently serves on the Executive Board of the Wayne County Association of School Boards.

James Schoolmaster
James Schoolmaster is serving his fourth term on the board. His term expires on Dec. 31, 2014. His two children are graduates of Dearborn High School and Michigan State University. Schoolmaster graduated from the University of Michigan in 1970 and graduated cum laude in 1973 from Wayne State University Law School. He is a retired attourney from AAA and is now practicing law in the city of Royal Oak. James is married to Darlene who has taught in Dearborn since 1969.

Mary Lane
Mary Lane is serving her third term on the Board of Education. She received Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and had post-graduate training in immigration law and English as a Second Language. She is employed handling immigration, deportation, asylum, and citizenship cases. Mary has also taught ESL abroad and a 40-hour class entitled “Basic Immigration Law for Paralegals”. Two sons graduated from Edsel Ford High School, where a daughter currently attends. Her husband has coached soccer at EFHS and in Dearborn Soccer Club.
