Several years ago the district started a pay to play program. What is the follow up on this? Did it work? Are we making money?
Pay to play was put into practice two years ago and was never intended to make money only help offset some of the cost of academic and athletic extra-curricular activities. Pay-to-play brings in approximately $250,000 a year about a quarter of the total cost for all extra-curricular activity. Due to the large number of economically disadvantaged families living in Dearborn the fee is waived for many students.
