Adult & Community Ed.
Adult & Community Education has been an integral part of the Dearborn School District for over 80 years. Through its three departments, Adult Education, Community Education and Early Childhood, it provides educational and enrichment opportunities to all facets and generations of the community.
Assessment & Evaluation
The Office of Assessment and Evaluation is part of the Department of Instructional Services. Its mission is to narrow the achievement gap by providing systemic professional development and sustaining local leadership to help ensure that all learners achieve academically across content areas.

Athletics
The voluntary athletic program is an integral part of the overall education of the student because athletics offer many opportunities for the total development of each individual. It is important that each athlete fully understand that it is a privilege to be on an athletic team and there are responsibilities inherent with membership on an athletic team.
Business Services
Business Services provides support to our students through our Food Services Department, services and support to our employees through our Payroll/Insurance and Benefits Department. Our Purchasing and Accounting Departments provide support to our schools and also are responsible for our relationship with vendors that provide goods and services to the district.
Communications
The Communications Office serves the staff and community of the Dearborn Public Schools by providing information via print publications, electronic correspondence, televised programming, and on-site presentations. The office works with several print and electronic media outlets to promote the district and provide credible sources of information.
Office of Compensatory Education and School Improvement
The Office of Compensatory Education and School Improvement is part of the Department of Instructional Services. The Office administers programs and activities under Title I and Title III of the No Child Left Behind Act. Funding is provided through the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act to ensure that all children have the opportunity to meet rigorous academic standards.
English Language Learners
Dearborn Public Schools has recognized the educational needs of English Language Learners (ELL) and has established supported programs for them since 1976.  We are committed to interventions that provide language support allowing students to achieve academic success on state standards and benchmarks in all content areas while attaining English Language proficiency.
Food Service
School meals offer students milk, fruits and vegetables, proteins and grains – and they must meet strict limits on saturated fat and portion size.
Graphics Lab
The Graphics Lab provides graphic services for the instructional programs in the Dearborn Public Schools. The P.T.A. and other school-related groups that contribute to and support the instructional program, are also entitled to use the Graphics Lab. The operating philosophy is one of "self-help", but the Graphics Specialist will assist Lab customers in producing classroom-related material as efficiently as possible - both in time and material.
Health and Safety

Human Resources / Employment

The Human Resources Department provides support services for the Dearborn Public Schools. Primary functions of the staff in Human Resources include identifying and recruiting candidates for employment; interviewing employee candidates, and processing all personnel transactions including hiring, transfers, promotions, leaves, layoff and severance.

 

 Instructional Services
The Department of Instructional Services is responsible for the development and implementation of instructional curriculum, P – 12, including the professional development of teachers and administrators necessary to promote the use of best practices and to increase student achievement.
Operations
The Operations Division Mission Statement: To provide maintenance, operation, and transportation support services to the school system at a controlled costs in order to establish a positive learning environment responsive to the needs of the community, school board, superintendent, and administrators.
Payroll & Benefits
The mission of the Payroll and Benefits office is to serve employees while enabling them to help themselves.  To accomplish this, we have developed a robust web site where employees can get information ranging from how to access their pay documents and attendance information using eEmployee to what benefits are available from the Employee Assistance Plan.  We hope you will check it out and let us know if there is any additional information you’d like to see there.
School Nurses
School nurses serves as the health professional for the school community.
Special Education
Dearborn Public Schools provides students with special needs additional assistance as mandated under the IDEA '04 Federal Law. Special education services are provided from birth to age twenty-five. Any student attending a public or private school is eligible to be evaluated by the school district. Services are provided from birth through school age for any child in the district with a disability.
Student Services
Student Services helps with enrollment, transcripts, and work permits.  Student Services can also help with determining what school your child will attend as well as applications for free and reduced lunches.
Technology Department

The Information Technology department is responsible for supporting the diverse technology needs of educators.  Our dedicated computer technicians are highly trained and here to help.  With a staff of 20 we are able to provide service to over 30 buildings and over 7,000 computers and learning devices.
