Dearborn Schools Stands 100% Behind Dearborn Police Chief’s Efforts
The Dearborn Public Schools supports Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad in his efforts to keep synthetic drugs, more commonly referred to as K2, Spice, Hayze, Black Magic, and bath salts, off the shelves of local business and out of the hands of potential users.
“Removing these dangerous products from store shelves is an important undertaking as well as making sure that our entire community is aware of the dangers of these synthetic drugs,” commented Dearborn Public Schools Superintendent Mr. Brian Whiston.
In a recent letter sent to the Dearborn business community the Chief stated that he is in support of emergency state legislation that will outlaw these harmful and often deadly products that pose a critical threat to the well being of America’s youth. He is also asking Dearborn business owners to voluntarily remove these dangerous products from store shelves immediately.
“We applaud the efforts of Chief Haddad, his staff, and the City of Dearborn for taking a pro-active stand in combating this dangerous product,” Whiston added.
The District will share the Chief’s message with students, staff, parents, and community partners.
