April is the Month of the Young Child, and Dearborn Public Schools is pleased to announce a series of educational sessions designed to bring important information to parents about the behavior and growth of their young children. Parents of children ages 2 and 3 are invited to attend any or all of these free classes.
Parent Talk for Toddlers (Parents Only) Wednesday, April 6 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Learn new ideas for dealing with the every day stress of raising a toddler. Tips for raising a responsible and independent child!
“The Three Bears” For Tots (Parents Only) Wednesday, April 13 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Art, oral language, math and reading activities that go with the story “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.” You will learn how to share the wonders of this great story!
The Music Lady (Parents & Toddlers Ages 2 & 3) Wednesday, April 27 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Music and movement for the whole family. Come enjoy an evening of songs and fun!
These free Wednesday sessions will be held at Cotter School, 13020 Osborn, Dearborn.
The Month of the Young Child will wrap up with a special event called Terrific Tots, a morning to share with your 2 and/or 3 year-old child. Cotter School will host the annual event on Saturday, April 30, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. The school is home to the district’s Great Start Readiness Program providing services to over 500 preschool-age children. Terrific Tots is set up to help parents learn about their child’s health, growth, speech, and language development. Activities that focus on teaching and learning through play and art will be a part of the day’s events, and include math activities, making playdough, music and movement, and fun with reading.

Students attending Cotter are part of the Great Start Readiness Preschool (GSRP) program. The GSRP program is located at Cotter Early Childhood Center, Whitmore-Bolles, and Salina Elementary.
